I would especially like to read something where said kinness was a deciding factor in why Lily chose to be with James rather than Severus - with her kind rather than a human.

I really am baffled by people having such an issue with this.
Y’all know there’s Hermione/Voldemort fanfiction, right?
Well, I don’t like Hermione/Voldemort, either, LOL
For this, what bugs me (other than the otherkin stuff just not being my cup of tea and James, Sirius and Peter already having a canon explanation for their becoming Animagi so no theory necessary, the otherkin thing would be more of a what if or what if also - but whatever on that) is the idea that Lily would choose who she wants to be with based on “being with her own kind” (that doesn’t seem very Lily, IMO), and specifically that that would be the deciding factor in her “choosing James over Severus” when she didn’t choose one over the other because they weren’t both an option at the same time (when Snape might have been an option, assuming Lily would have liked a relationship upgrade if Snape would come to his senses and turn from his bad path, James was being too much of a jerk and wasn’t an option; when James was an option it had been a year since Lily broke from Snape due to his throwing her under the bus with a racial slur and refusing to turn from his bad path/DE aspirations, so Snape was no longer an option). So, in terms of Jily shipping it seems rather wanky to me, and I’m totally uninterested in the otherkin angle, so…bleh and no thank you.

Just because the fic in question is something you want to see personally, doesn’t mean that some of the ideas behind the fic are exempt from being offensive or distasteful to someone else. I happened across your statements and felt like expressing my distaste for the wank that I saw, and that’s all there is to it. (Upon reflection, the otherkin angle could be interesting to me if it wasn’t being used in a wanky way - ex. as Lily’s deciding factor in breaking with Snape, which downplays Snape’s racist actions and his DE aspiriations).
Furthermore, when you post your idea in the public sphere, it’s no longer “just for you”. You’re the one who put your idea out there. I understand you would like to see this fic and I’m not contradicting your statement that you would. I simply said that I thought the concept was wanky, in passing, and I then explained why because you expressed your bafflement as to why anyone took issue with it, and I decided to illuminate my POV.
Finally, this is tumblr - beware the “harry potter” tag if you don’t want your stuff to possibly be seen by a whole lot of people with diverse viewpoints, and possibly reblogged critically.

yeah but like in 0otP he took this time to notice how Snape wrote (untidy scrawl iirc) and then in HBP he notices the same thing, but doesn’t make the connection. face palm tbh. wut a coinkidink lol.

Snape being the hbp was actually something that was p. well hidden imo? Like, I legit had no inkling until closer to the end of the book…Everything else about Snape was obvs but not that.
I wouldn’t have guessed it, either.
